Since 2002 following Tropical Storm Allison, Bob Jacobsen has served as a hydrologic consultant to the Amite River Basin Commission. He has participated in the following studies on the Amite River Basin:

 

  • 2003, URS Corporation, (Pieter de Jong, Lead Author*) for ARBC and FEMA Region VI, Floodplain Management in the Amite River Basin, Louisiana (post TS Allison Report on Flood Hazard Mitigation).

  • 2005 DRAFT, URS Corporation, (Bob Jacobsen, Lead Author) for ARBC, Amite River Basin Floodplain Management Plan, In Support of the Comite River Diversion Canal Project, (Note this Draft Plan was updated by GEC Corporation in 2015).

  • 2008, Taylor Engineering, (George Hudson, Lead Author*) for ARBC.  Comite River Basin H&H study (HEC-HMS/RAS unsteady analysis) of Comite River Diversion Canal Project). This study provided a preliminary analysis of the Diversion Canal performane given substantial Comite River changes since the initial design. 

  • 2009, Taylor Engineering, (George Hudson, Lead Author*) for Pontchartrain Levee District. H&H study (HEC-HMS/RAS unsteady analysis) for flood mitigation alternatives for Bayou Manchac (East of Ward’s Creek).

  • 2010, Taylor Engineering, (George Hudson, Lead Author*) for Pontchartrain Levee District. H&H study (HEC-HMS/RAS unsteady analysis) for Amite River Basin Ecosystem Restoration Feasibility; (in conjunction with Tony Thomas on morphodynamics).

  • 2010, Taylor Engineering, (George Hudson, Lead Author*) for Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority. H&H study (HEC-HMS/RAS unsteady analysis) for Restoring Lower Amite River (Diversion Canal) Swamp
